HD/SD File Transfers

File conversions consist of the following: Any Standard or High Def video tape being converted into a video file format such as Q-time.
(and/or vise versa) This process includes ingest (capture of video material), render, file creation /final output.

Compression times:
Uncompressed output: 4:1 ratio
Compressed output:2:1 ratio
(All ratios above are estimates on length of output. Realtime output estimates determined exactly by format and lengths of project.)

SD File Transfers : $199.00 per hour
HD File Transfers : $299.00 per hour

(Watermarking available in this process also see : Watermarking / CSS)

Blu-Ray/CD/DVD Replication

The Replication Process //////// (Blu-RayDVD/CD)

Glass Mastering:
DVD Replication is a 1000 copies or more. The standardized master format for Pressed or Replicated DVD's is DLT tape. We do accept DVD-R masters though some DVD-R's may be unacceptable for Glass Mastering. We do not accept DVD-RAM. High Compression rates of MPEG-2 allows for 133 minutes of video on the single-layer DVD-5 format, while allowing for 5.1-channel digital sound in up to 3 languages and up to 4 subtitles. The dual layer DVD-9 format can hold up to 240 minutes of video and a 2-sided single layer DVD-10 measures up to 250 minutes. DVD ROM benefits from the combination of both an enhanced disc and a powerful compression format that creates a DVD ROM. DVD replication is manufacturing DVD's using an injection molding process. This DVD manufacturing technique is generally the best if you want at least 1,000 to 100,000 DVD's, and have at least a 5 day window for delivery. DVD ROM replication refers to DVD "Read Only Memory," as opposed to "Rewriteable Memory". The problem with RW discs is that they are incompatible with most devices other than the one that created the disc and thus are generally unsuitable for disseminating information. Silkscreen Printing
Silk screened printing is done using screens. This process uses films from your artwork (one film is required per color). Screens are then produced from those films and are setup to print directly to the face of the replicated disc. This option is best for artwork that does not have a lot of gradients and tonal ranges. Meaning, if you are working in solid color (100% color) or a tonal range between 20% - 80% color, the print results are very high quality.

Offset Printing
Offset printing is done using plates. The offset printing process is capable of producing much more intricate artwork and the final results are a photographic quality. This allows the disc image to contain smaller fonts and much more detailed images. We highly recommend this process when working in four color process.

"CSS" Security Encoding
CSS is a process in which a DLT (Digital Linear Tape) is created before the glass master with a video encoding known a "scrambled video signal encryption". Which is then transferred while creating the glass master, to disallow any copy/duplication of that replicated run of discs. The Content Scrambling System (CSS) is used to scramble the audio/video data on a DVD-Video disc. Each video title set (VTS) can be selectively scrambled using a unique key. Each unique title is assigned one Disc Key and up to 99 Title Keys (one per VTS), which are stored on the disc in encrypted form. In the decoder, the original keys are obtained by decryption and used to de scramble the data. Only the video data is encrypted. For DVD-ROM drives, the MPEG-2 decoder challenges the drive and receives the necessary keys for decryption. This ensures that only approved hardware/software can be used.

Encryption Services
Watermarking  Services

We offer two types of watermarking processes. Based on the clients particular projects needs and/or deliverable specs.(See Below for explanation and rates)

The first type is "Standard Watermarking". This watermark is actually a sub-title with a prohibitive material content tag, generally in a semi-transparent font and located in the lower third of the frame from title safe edge to edge.

Formats available for Standard Watermarking: all SD and HD tape formats / DVD - Blu-Ray formats / most file formats including - Mpeg 4 / SD/HD-Q-Time / Mov. / WMV.

The second type is Forensic. This watermark involves a process of audio frequencies being interlaced into the data bit stream as a master is being encoded. The watermark is then woven into the actual data bits that make up the TS files which allow the disc to play. In a one-second stream of video from the disc which has an average size of 5 Mbps  a watermark would be about 2 bits of data. And because the watermark is a part of the video itself, removing it will damage the video image as well. Thus making ripping or stripping of the watermark from the actual material virtually impossible. The forensic watermarked disc(s) are then be electronically logged / tracked / and can be traced back to a specific electronic watermark on a specific master and to the specific recipient of that master if need be.

Formats available for Forensic Watermarking:
CD / DVD / Blu-Ray / Mp3 / Wav. / Aiff / Mpeg 4 / SD/HD-Q-Time / Mov. / WMV.

Watermarking: $199.00 per hour

Forensic Watermarking: $299.00 per hour

CSS

CSS:
This is a encryption process in which a DLT is created with a scrambling video signal encode of the data to scramble the video pixels so they can't be cloned directly from disc after replication. This is in turn transferred to the glass master to prohibit any attempt to copy the subsequent replicated discs. The Content Scrambling System(CSS) is used to scramble the audio/vidoe data on each replicated disc. Each video tittle set (VTS) can be selectively scrambled using a unique key. Each unique title is assigned one  disc key and up to 99 title keys (one per VTS), which are stored on the disc in encrypted form. In the decoder the original keys are obtained through decryption and are used to de-scramble the data.

CSS: $349.00 per master
